Sarah-Jane Dartnall
I began my dance training at the age of 2½, and went on to study all faculties of dance including Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz and National Dance at The Ivy Baker School of Dancing where I studied both R.A.D. and I.S.T.D. syllabuses. I also studied with Laine Theatre Arts, and was then accepted into the Royal Academy of Dancing, (Royal Ballet).
With over 35 years of dance experience, my love of dance has extended out to those who have never had the opportunity to enjoy the pleasures of dance and the freedom that it can give to each individual, giving them confidence, self-esteem, and a feeling of achievement.
During my dance career, I have danced with the New National Dance Company, whose Principal, Jeanette Minty, a former Prima Ballerina of the London Festival Ballet, auditioned me as one of the principal dancers for her Company. I have gone on to choreograph for many organisations both amateur and professional.
I have worked with children and adults alike, both in the dance school environment and also within the community. Upon request, I have provided one-to-one tutoring and private dance lessons to enable people of all ages to reach their full dance potential, proving that dance should be both fun and rewarding.
I am passionate about dance and fitness and feel that dance can be everyone’s ticket to freedom and expression, being able to relax and enjoy themselves in the company of like-minded individuals with absolutely no pressure…. just pure enjoyment
